# Gemini Spark

> Connect Gemini Spark to your Givebutter account as a custom app.

## Before you start

* A Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra plan, which includes Gemini Spark.
* A personal Google Account. Custom apps aren't available on work or school accounts yet.

## Connect Givebutter

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Connected Apps">
    Go to [Connected Apps](https://gemini.google.com/apps) in Gemini on the web.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a custom app">
    Under **Custom apps for Spark**, click **Add a custom app** and enter this URL:

    ```
    https://mcp.givebutter.com/mcp
    ```
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in and authorize">
    Click **Next**, then sign in to Givebutter, choose the account to connect, and approve access.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Switch to Spark">
    In the Gemini sidebar, click **Switch to Spark**. In the text box, type `@` and choose
    **Givebutter** so Gemini uses it.

Try a question like "How much did we raise in the last 30 days?" or "Show me my top 10 recurring
donors this year."

## Troubleshooting

  <Accordion title="I can't find Connected Apps">
    On [gemini.google.com](https://gemini.google.com), click **Settings**, then **Connected Apps**.
    If you don't see Connected Apps there, click **Personal Intelligence**, then **Connected Apps**.
    You can only add custom apps on the web, not in the Gemini mobile app.

  <Accordion title="Gemini can't find Givebutter">
    In the sidebar, click **Switch to Spark**, then type `@` and choose **Givebutter**.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="I don't see Custom apps for Spark">
    Check that you're signed in with a personal Google Account on a Google AI Pro or Ultra plan, and
    that Keep Activity is on.

  <Accordion title="I want to disconnect">
    In **Connected Apps**, turn off the Givebutter toggle to pause it. To revoke access, open **More
    details** and click **Disconnect**. To remove it completely, click **Remove app**.
